Why Choose Stephanie

Pregnant women typically have a lot of aches, pains and worries. Massage therapy can improve overall prenatal health and should be considered an important option along with regular prenatal care. Massage therapy has been associated with better pregnancy outcomes and reduced risk of premature birth. I am dedicated to giving you my best effort to alleviate your discomforts and help you walk out feeling better than when you came in.

My special prenatal pillows allow for you to feel weightless laying in a face down position- of course, we will only position you according to your comfort. Side-lying or sitting are also options. I am trained to use Young Living pure therapeutic-grade essential oils that are safe in pregnancy for optimal results. If you have allergies you are aware of, please let me know ahead of time, or if you have any of the following concerns, please speak to your doctor to see if there might be a contraindication to receiving massage therapy:

  • High risk pregnancy
  • Previous pre-term labor
  • Severe swelling, high blood pressure, or severe headache (which could be a sign of pre-eclampsia)
  • Pre-eclampsia
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis
  • Placenta Problems
  • Recently postpartum (after birth)

I donate about $5 from every massage to a charity helping feed or cloth children in need.

Cleanliness is a top priority to me and I designate time between each appointment to disinfect according to the standards of the CMTO. I follow all COVID-19 sanitation protocols under the guidance of the ministry of Health. I have a certified HEPA air filter running in my treatment room at all times.

I only use 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oils by Young Living. I have studied this brand for over a decade and believe in the beneficial use of it during treatment. Some oils I may use are in the mint family for warming and cooling effects, but I will customize it to your preferences or needs. Bonus: I also use these oils for their purifying effect in the air! If you prefer to NOT have essential oils used during your treatment, please let me know beforehand and I can accommodate you.

Often people might feel obligated to talk, but I know sometimes all we really need is quiet to help de-stress and be present in the moment. Of course, I am more than happy to have conversation, but I let you lead. At times, I will ask you about the pressure I am using or other health related questions to better your massage outcome. I have carefully selected music to promote a calm effect for racing thoughts and to let tensions dissolve during treatment.

At this time, a home-based practice serves me best. Less stress on me allows for better massage treatments and more longevity in my career. Still, your clinical experience will be as professional as possible and nothing less!

Please arrive on time for your appointment and enter through the side entry no more than 10 minutes early. The door will be locked between appointments for safety reasons. I will conduct a thorough intake at your first appointment where I will explain my treatment plan in detail. I obtain verbal and written consent beforehand and will let you know you have the right to alter or withdraw consent at anytime. After the treatment, based on my findings I will advise next steps for self-care.
